For the first time in Spain, producers of fresh bovine and ovine meat bearing the PGI stamp are getting together to issue joint consumer information on the meaning of the European Protected Geographical Information (PGI) stamp and to explain the differentiating features of these meats in comparison to others not bearing this PGI quality guarantee.
The Innovacarne Institute is launching this promotion and information campaign co-funded by the European Union and the Spanish Government through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. The campaign will run for three years, between 2007 and 2010, with a budget of four million eight hundred thousand euro.
The Innovacarne Institute has the remit of raising public awareness about nationally-produced bovine and ovine meats bearing the PGI stamp using communication media channels, publishing leaflets and brochures, carrying out promotional activities aimed not only at the sector and consumers but also at gastronomy professionals, producing illustrated publicity material, etc.
In short, Unique Meats from Unique Lands.
