Following approval of Royal Decree 950/1997, this entity's activities are focused on designing and carrying out actions promoting the consumption of fishery products, guiding the market in matters of quantity, price and quality, and providing technical and financial support to sector associations, co-operatives and companies. One of its major functions is to raise awareness, motivate and promote the consumption of fishery and fish farming products by:
- Running publicity campaigns and promotional events.
- Supporting fishing sector companies' participation in national and international Trade Fairs and Exhibitions.
- Providing FROM institutional presence at national and international Trade Fairs and Exhibitions.
